About Dearborn Police Department

The city of Dearborn is a city inside of southeast Michigan that covers 24.5 square miles and is home to nearly 100,000 residents. Dearborn is a city of rich heritage with social and business diversity. The Dearborn Police Department employs approximately 200 sworn officers who pride themselves on taking a progressive approach in protecting the citizens, pre-serving law and order and enhancing the quality of life in Dearborn. The Dearborn Police Department has gained a reputation of being one of the best trained and equipped law enforcement agencies in the country. In addition, the Dearborn Police Department has built a legacy of professionalism, courtesy and efficiency. In addition to Patrol and the Detective Bureau, the Department maintains a number of specialized units including: SWAT, Bomb Squad, Traffic Safety Bureau, Canine Unit, Surveillance Unit, Narcotics Unit, and a Community Policing Unit.
