CLASS (Community Living And Support Services)

About CLASS (Community Living And Support Services)

CLASS was founded in 1951 by family members interested in seeing their children with disabilities have more options and community opportunities in their lives. Over the years, the organization has grown and developed, but that basic goal- helping people with disabilities live full lives in their communities- still remains and is embodied in the current organizational mission.

The mission of CLASS is to support people with disabilities as they explore options, participate in their communities, and strive toward equality. In short, “We are, Working Toward A Community Where Each Belongs”.

Since its inception, CLASS has grown into a major human services provider and strong advocate for inclusion in Allegheny and surrounding counties. The organization serves adults with varying abilities whose diagnoses include, but are not limited to, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, autism, and traumatic brain injury, or intellectual disabilities. CLASS serves approximately 1,100 individuals and their families throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. CLASS currently offers residential services, community skills training, vocational programs, attendant care services, outreach, and advocacy.
