The teamwork and coworkers is unmatched. I also learned great nursing skills, and got to practice so that I feel competent in bed side nursing skills such as blood draws and starting IV's.

What I wish was different

I wish my job description was further explained to me in the beginning.

Advice

Study your job description well. Be proactive and advocate about your own learning.

What I liked

Very good work environment, super friendly and helpful people. On the job training provided. Flexible schedules

What I wish was different

Required 8 hour shifts instead of 12. More sick days, but will be flexible and work with you if sick.

Advice

We always need PCTs and there’s room to move up if you want to be a nurse or work in a different section of the hospital.

Administrative Intern

April 2020 • Idaho Falls, ID

What I liked

I honestly believe this internship is an unparalleled opportunity for individuals interested in becoming healthcare leaders. The exposure, trust, and responsibility that was given to each of the interns was incredible. We had access to most areas of the hospital, meaningful projects, scheduled training events, and the ability to shadow/interview any part of the hospital. If you are pursuing a career in healthcare management, you wont find a better undergraduate experience anywhere!

Advice

You gain from this internship what you put in. Over promise and underdeliver, look for additional ways to help outside of your assigned responsibilities, show your gratitude, and ask lots of questions!
