Investment Analyst Intern

June 2020 • Berwyn, PA

What I liked

I enjoyed learning more about client portfolios and getting a better understanding on the investment industry as a whole, including the specifics behind it, such as trading and using DCA's.

What I wish was different

That I would have had a more consistent internship. What I mean by this is that some of my hours were very inconsistent, and my schedule became very loose at times as I also worked another job, caddying. So, te fluidity of the whole situation became sporadic at times.

Advice

To ask questions as much as you can. I gained a good amount of information just by asking questions, and it can go a long way, especially in the business world.

Administrative Assistant Intern

May - August 2018 • Buffalo, NY

What I liked

I enjoyed working for my boss who was a wealth manager with lots of prior experience. He was a great mentor to me and I learnt a lot about investments and portfolio management within the duration of my internship.

What I wish was different

I wish I was better prepared for the job through my classes. I had to do a lot of self studying and homework the first couple of weeks so that I could complete my job tasks .

Advice

There are always things you can complete even if you find that you have completed all your duties for the day. As an intern especially, it is easy to feel that way. Ask your boss or colleague how you can help and make use of your time. there.
