About National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC)

NGIC is an Army organization, headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, that belongs to the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command. We are the primary producer of ground forces intelligence for the Department of Defense. The organization evaluates and makes assessments regarding current and future scientific and technical capabilities and military capabilities of foreign ground forces. This analysis responds to requirements from operational commanders, military research and development communities, the Department of Defense, and national policymakers. NGIC is a member of the Intelligence Community, and represents the Army on matters of national security.

Our diverse workforce is primarily civilian. It includes Dept. of Army civilians and active duty military and reserve U.S. Army personnel. NGIC employs highly skilled cultural and regional analysts, as well as engineers and scientists. We also employ modelers, simulation experts, and other technical specialists who evaluate the capabilities and performance data on virtually every land weapons system, including chemical and biological weapons, used by foreign ground forces. One aspect of our analysis is to prevent technological surprise on the battlefield.

We seek individuals who are innate puzzle solvers and possess analytical skills for careers as intelligence analysts. Our analysts are typically assigned to a geographic region or functional specialty. They obtain information from all intelligence sources and provide finished intelligence products to a wide array of national customers.
