Office of Congresswoman Niki Tsongas

About Office of Congresswoman Niki Tsongas

As spring approaches, I am actively seeking bright, conscientious interns for my Congressional offices in Washington D.C. and Lowell, Massachusetts. We are seeking exceptionally motivated students with strong written and verbal skills. An interest in public policy and current affairs is a must. Due to the competitive nature of the process and the limited number of internships available, anyone interested in participating should apply as soon as possible.

Working in conjunction with Congressional Aides, interns in my offices gain hands-on experience dealing with current issues. The internship experience will help students broaden their knowledge of government beyond theories learned in the classroom by allowing them to see the real world impact of public policy. Interns handle a diverse set of administrative and legislative responsibilities. Working individually and in collaboration with staff, interns have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects from policy research, to constituent correspondence, to event planning.

Interns are expected to keep abreast of both local and national news, as current issues are the basis for most constituent contacts. Moreover, students will benefit from the tremendous learning experience of integrating their knowledge of policy issues with their developing understanding of the inner workings of a Congressional office. Internships in my offices foster future leaders of the communities of the Third District and beyond.

Application forms are available on my Congressional website: www.tsongas.house.gov. Should you or any students have any questions, feel free to contact my internship coordinator, Dylan Ricker, in my Lowell office at (978) 459-0101 or by email at dylan.ricker@mail.house.gov.
