What I liked

I appreciated the freedom I was given to perform research over the topics I loved while still providing help to the organization. Since Remedy is a small staff, I was able to develop personal connections between myself and my coworkers. Additionally, it showed me what it was like to work for a small company, which I could apply if I go into a private practice as a clinical neuropsychologist.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been given a little more direction as the baselines for what I was assigned to do were very loose. They wanted to give me the freedom to express my writing and research finds, but I work best with structure and instruction. I still think I gained a lot from this experience, however.

Advice

Be ready to go with the flow. I'm a pretty rigid person, and everything about this experience (especially during a global pandemic) was reliant on the changing environment. It was ultimately growing, but definitely something I wish I had been aware of coming into the workplace.
