About Rochester Public Library

In January, 2020, the Library Board adopted a new strategic plan with the vision of “A strong and equitable community."

Equity is at the heart of what we do. We can’t have a strong community if we don’t have an equitable community. During the pandemic, the way that we do our work has changed.

Since March library staff have stepped up to help our community by creating and staffing a Day Center for people experiencing homelessness, working on a team to address food insecurity, and operating a COVID hotline to provide accurate and timely information. In addition, we are providing library services through Walkup Windows, Bookmobile services, Deposit & Homebound services, telephone reference, as well as Library Express.

We are committed to being agile, responding to community needs, and increasing equity during this world-wide crisis.

Please join us on this journey.
