What I liked

I liked the work I did in general and felt like it helped me practice my engineering skills. The people there were very receptive to my questions and welcoming.

What I wish was different

Towards the end the work definitely got repetitive and I wish I was able to gain more experience in unfamiliar software.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions! But also try to put good effort in before asking other co-workers.

1. Incredible experience with great and very supportive culture. 2. Very open project to work out and adapt with valuable feedback from mentorship program. 3. Opportunity to travel to different facilities and meet lots of people.

What I wish was different

1. More time to to hang with the whole team as we're located in different cities.

Advice

Keep open to any possible project and approach your manager/mentor to let them keep updated. It's very important to share every progress thus you could ensure the completion of the project.

What I liked

Schlumberger is an amazing company that takes care of their workers. As an intern I had paid accommodations, daily stipend, and was reimbursed for any expense that I incurred due to completing the internship. Schlumberger is also a company that strives for and succeeds at ensuring diversity in the work force.

What I wish was different

Advice

Make sure you do as much as you can during the internship. While it only may be two months, the number of opportunities that Schlumberger will offer for growth and development is vast, so take advantage of it.

Wide variety or work a very unique learning experience.

What I wish was different

Wish it had lasted a little longer. There was about a month after class ended and another month after the internship ended where I was doing nothing.

Advice

Just make sure you look up the different job positions they offer to see which one best fits you and only apply if you are fine working outside and with your hands.

I enjoyed the wonderful internship program they offered, which included many activities for the interns, free housing and transportation, and also being in a new city.

What I wish was different

I would have enjoyed being more social with team I was put onto.

Advice

You will be introduced to a lot of exciting new technology that you have not learned before, so asking questions is essential. However, it's a very fun challenge, everyone is very kind and helpful, and you will make a lot of awesome friends over the summer.

It would have been cool to go out in the field more and venture outside of Oklahoma.

If it doesn't scare you a little bit it's not worth doing! Don't settle for safe and comfortable, go outside of your comfort zone.

Field engineer intern

What I liked

Everything was great; I was working and Bits (Smith Bits) Analysing all the failures mechanism of ONYX 360 Rolling Cutter. I like the fact that my mentor and manager pay attention to my job and gave me alot of advices and also that the job I did was very relevent for the company present and future plan. So I left knowing that I made and impact and help my manager with his project.

What I wish was different

Maybe that it last longer.
