Peer Mentor Lead

August 2018 • Ogden, UT

What I liked

I get to meet and work with so many different people. I learn to plan and execute events, submit presentation proposals, present at conferences, help facilitate trainings, and track and use data. There are so many other things that I have been able to experience through this job that have helped me to grow as a student, a person, and a professional!

What I wish was different

Honestly, I can’t think of anything that I would do differently. If there is ever something that I feel like I need experience in or something that needs tweaking, my boss and our team of Mentors are right there to help me find those experiences and integrate them into my work environment. Being in this job has been like being a part of a family of very intelligent and compassionate individuals that enjoy helping others and increasing their knowledge wherever they can.

Advice

Have an open mind and be willing to take on new challenges. Don’t overwork yourself. It is easy to get overwhelmed with the things that you need and want to do, but take a step back and be willing to ask for feedback and help when you need it.
