About WOLA (Washington Office on Latin America)

WOLA is a leading research and advocacy organization advancing human rights in the Americas. We envision a future where public policies protect human rights and recognize human dignity, and where justice overcomes violence. WOLA tackles problems that transcend borders and demand cross-border solutions. We create strategic partnerships with courageous people making social change—advocacy organizations, academics, religious and business leaders, artists, and government officials. Together, we advocate for more just societies in the Americas.

Reviews

Communications Intern

June 2019 - August 2019 Washington, DC
“WOLA's work environment is absolutely encouraging and supportive. They strive to create a program where we receive as much as we are giving them, offering their interns development opportunities, the chance to attend talks and discussions with civil leaders and policy-makers, weekly inspirational lunches with key figures in the field, and the opportunity to take up your own projects. Interning at WOLA was a very well-structured experience that gave me a network of policy experts that I still regularly make use of. They also provided us with a travel stipend and multiple forms of support, despite the internship being unpaid.”
