Bair Lake Bible Camp

Summer Staffer

May - August 2019 • Jones, MI

What I liked

The staff is absolutely amazing at Bair Lake. Not only did they prepare us to share the love of Jesus to everyone who stepped on to the camp, but they were impacting our personal walk with the Lord through out my entire time there. Additionally, I loved that I had a variety of options for where I wanted to work each week, I put my preferences down as a counselor, ACE (zip line/rock climbing, etc.) facilitator, or day camp worker which helped me not to get burnt out with one job the entire time.

What I wish was different

I wish I was able to do multiple jobs there per week because each job has something different to offer, and most of them were quite a blast.

Advice

I would tell people to only get involved if you are ready to serve. A lot of this job was laying down my desires and wants so that I could better serve the campers or the staff. However, with a mind of service, it is much easier to have a great time and enjoy those around you.

Core Staff

June - August 2018 • Jones, MI

What I liked

I love the community at Bair Lake Bible Camp with my whole heart. As a part of Core Staff, I got to play a large part in helping develop that community. I also had the opportunity to serve as a direct assistant to directors in different areas of the camp, which familiarized me with camp ministry in a way I hadn't known as fully before.

What I wish was different

Other than wishing it could have been an even longer experience? Not much.

Advice

If you have any interest in camp ministry, I highly suggest you look into Bair Lake. They are committed to intentional discipleship, loving on all people that come on grounds, and doing all they can to serve the kingdom of God.

Summer staff

May - August 2018 • Jones, MI

What I liked

I loved the way I was able to do different jobs and not just counsel the entire summer. I loved the relationships I built with other staff members as well as annual volunteers and full time staff.

What I wish was different

Nothing! It was honestly so good!

Advice

Turnover, or the time we clean the camp, isn’t always fun, but if you take time to figure out what job you hate the least, turnover will be a breeze!
