What I liked

During my time there I really enjoyed getting to know how to sell. It was something that I had never done before. Through BBW, I was able to engage with customers on an ongoing basis. I loved the fun environment, and getting to know all the products and people.

What I wish was different

I had a great experience, but a little more training should've been required. Although I felt ready to go on sales floor, I still felt that I should've spent more time getting to know the company better so I could be the best sales person I could be.

Advice

Have fun. Working there is not like any retail job, so it can be very overwhelming at times, but you definitely learn something new each day.

What I liked

I loved the atmosphere that my coworkers and I created. It was a very fun and welcoming environment to work in.

What I wish was different

I wish that the job wasn't so based on sales/numbers. We did our best, but the pressure of reaching a sales goal by the end of the night and end of each week made a lot of days very stress filled.

Advice

I would say to try not to take everything so personally. All you can do in any job that you have is the best job that you can do. Not reaching one sales goal shouldn't ruin your home life. Try to leave work at work and enjoy yourself at home!

What I liked

It always smelled nice inside. Most of the customers were friendly and kind. I got to work with a brand and company I like and support.

What I wish was different

Often times, my schedule was not posted due to technical difficulties on my manager's side. I wish the schedule set up/process was more clearly defined for both me and my manager. I also believe I was only hired to make up for certain busy times in the summer. I was scheduled less and less as the summer progressed.

Advice

Be prepared to restock shelves at any time. Always be aware of your surroundings in case of theft. Communicate with your manager often. Know that people occasionally have bad days, and may not be in the best mood; It's not your fault.

What I liked

I like how I’m able to engage with many different people every day , on top of that , most of the people who I work with are students who attend the University of Akron. From talking to them I was able to find out more information to help out with my major and more.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have got a job within my field to help me use my current skills and knowledge to help me in my near future.

Advice

I would say this has been one of the best experiences yet. I had a mock interview at the career center as well which is really going to help me when preparing for the real one. I don’t think many people are aware of these services so I do try to tell as many people as I can.
