Cohesive and based on team work. As a team, we work together to provide the best care possible for patients and their family members. Our job as volunteers is to make patient and family experience as easy and painless as possible.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more responsibilities as a volunteer. I feel that my abilities are not being used to their fullest.
Advice
Make sure that you are attentive and sensitive to the needs of the people who you are interacting with.

The opportunity to grow. Baycare offers tuition assistance and school opportunities. They also offer continuation of education within the hospital.

I would tell everyone who seeks to get into nursing to work at Baycare to get some clinical experience. Baycare offers 100% tuition assistance to employees as long as 2 year contract is signed. This is offered through SPC or you may go to other colleges but must get into the programs on your own.

What I liked
It really enhanced my skills in excel and various programs. I love how inviting everyone is as well as the workplace. I love the options you have to work on various task in different sectors that interest you.
What I wish was different
I wish they would have changed the start date to later in June or sometime in May because I wasn't able to learn much until after month-end close.
Advice
Make sure to have strong excel skills and always ask questions.

The worst part is the sad stories you hear or unfortunate deaths which can not be avoided
Advice
You need to understand that patients are scared, in pain, and confused most of the time. Have patients even if they take their frustration out on you.

Be prepared for some emotional patients and/or visitors. You cannot anticipate how a patient or visitor may be feeling. Be careful how you talk and word your responses to patients and visitors.
