Communication & Research Intern

June - August 2019 • Wrentham, MA

What I liked

The work environment was very laid back and outgoing, and they encouraged us to find endeavors that we were passionate about. I was able to learn a lot about the industry and they did as much as possible to include us in other aspects of the business, which helps me feel prepared for future job opportunities. I felt very respected and valued as an intern.

What I wish was different

Nothing, I loved this experience.

Advice

Although people tend to gravitate towards larger companies, small companies allow you to create a bond with coworkers and you are more likely to feel useful to the company. I definitely recommend working for small companies!

Research Intern

June 2019 • Wrentham, MA

What I liked

Flexible work schedule. I worked from home three days per week. Supportive and collaborative team. Managers were always available for questions.

What I wish was different

I expected more responsibility coming into the internship. I was under the impression that I would be doing econometrics work, but I did not. My responsibilities included the creation and updating of databases using Excel, and gathering primary data through cold-call executive interviews.

Advice

If you are interested in applied economics research consulting, this is a great environment in which to learn. The team is very transparent and collaborative.
