What I liked

Even though the internship was remote, Chewy did a great job of implementing a lot of leadership development workshops and intern bonding activities. I also enjoyed the work that I did and my final recommendations ended up being implemented at the end of my internship, which made me feel like I was able to contribute to the company.

What I liked

I enjoyed the work and felt valued by the company. The pay wasn't too shabby either.

What I wish was different

Due to COVID-19, the internship was adapted to be a remote internship. While I'm appreciative that I was able to still maintain my opportunity, many of the social aspects of the internship ended up feeling underwhelming.

Advice

You get out what you put in, so if networking and socializing isn't naturally supported, make sure you invest in it.

My direct supervisors were helpful and gave positive feedback.

I wish that employees could choose the department where they work. We were randomly rotated and my skills weren't fully utilized because I was doing tasks that I did not like or wasn't good at.

Chewy is a fantasic company that allows its interns to work on a variety of projects. While I was there I was able to attend events with our C-Suite and meet a lot of people who were the top of their game.

They say that if you like your work, that you do not work a day in your life. This is definitely true at Chewy

Amazing manager and team, fun environment with dogs in the office. Felt like a part of my team and was able to make some big impacts.

I wish my project was more challenging but this was unique to just my role, I could've taken on more work.

I met the most amazing people here. The experience was real and it felt like I was a part of a team. The schedule was flexible and the duties were challenging, but in a good way.

I wish I could've seen some of the management side as well.

Be extremely adaptable. You may have to do some things that you have never done before, but don't be afraid of them.

What I liked

The work environment was amazing and I’d go back in a heart beat. Management is wonderful and they really treat everyone as if we’re all on the same level. Plus, there are plenty of opportunities to move on up in the company.
