I loved the staff and the other interns at the Legal Service. I appreciated the patience that all of my other co-workers had with the applicants. This job took a lot of patience and empathy because our day-to-day job was to intern low income applicants for legal help with their domestic cases.
What I wish was different
I believe that if I would of had a stronger legal background I would have been more successful and had less questions for my overseers, but that was something that I could not control since I am still in my undergrad.
Advice
I would advise people who are interested in this job to have the utmost patience for the applicants. Many of the applicants that came through the doors of Colorado Legal Services did not have a plethora of knowledge about law or knew basic legal terms. You may have to repeat, elaborate or rephrase many terms that you come across throughout the interviewing process. I would also advise you to go in with confidence because you are in control of the interview not the applicant.

What I liked
I got to end each day talking with lawyers about the interviews I had, discuss what Colorado laws were involved in their issues.
What I wish was different
I would have like something to keep me busy for the entire 8 hours I was there. I was unsupervised, so duringthe time I want doing anything, I would study for the lsat.
