Continuous Improvement Intern

May - August 2021 • Easton, PA

What I liked

It was a good way to get my foot in the door in a famous company. Working with crayons and things like that, it also helped me know that what I was learning in school was applicable was a super fun experience and the culture there was amazing, everyone felt like family.

What I wish was different

There were still issues occurring from covid. I wish that the office would've been full of friendly faces but with remote work available no-one ever showed up

Advice

Ask questions often and don't be scared.

Ecommerce Intern

May - August 2016 • Stockertown, PA

What I liked

Interning at Crayola gave me the opportunity to learn how the business world works outside the classroom. Being given tasks that I could see directly affected the sales and operations of the company was an experience like no other.

What I wish was different

At times I was given a bit of busy work that yes, was important to the developmental process of products, but slightly dragged out.

Advice

Ask a lot of questions, don't feel like you have to know everything right off the bat. Your boss is there to help you learn and you'll get the most out of it if you are engaging in that.

Product Engineer

May - July 2017 • Easton, PA

What I liked

I loved working at Crayola. The work environment was very relaxed and my coworkers were always helpful when I had a question. I was able to work on projects and then see the finished product on shelves at stores like Target. Through my internship, the company also offered a mentor program where you could choose a mentor that you wanted, whether the mentor was in your field or not. Crayola has multiple production facilities and they give a tour of each and explain how each job/position works. I was able to gain very good insight into how the company works.

What I wish was different

I have actually completed two internships with Crayola LLC in the same position (product engineer). I wish I had chosen a different position to get more experience under my belt.

Advice

There is nothing to be worried about going into this company. All the employees are friendly and relaxed for the workplace, which creates a creative environment. I enjoyed the internship so much I went back for a second one.
