Molecular Biology Core Facilities Intern

June - August 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

I liked that I learned more about the process of sequencing by helping out at the lab and that I was paid for my experience.

What I wish was different

I wish there was more of a research element to it. I was helping out at a core facility, so there was no research question I was trying to investigate.

Advice

I liked the experience overall and would encourage others to seek out this internship if they are looking to get some lab experience and a job at the same time.

Summer Research Student

May - August 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

I did many in vivo and in vitro experiments, which were very inspiring.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more opportunities to attend conferences and learn more about the medical field.

Advice

I once got lost after doing long and tedious work and forgot what I wanted to do when I first entered the research lab, then I started to do a weekly self-reflection on what I did and why things were important. It really helped.
