What I liked

Most people are friendly and it has flexible hours

What I wish was different

I wish it was a bit more challenging. You often are just putting products away, delivering products, and relocating stuff.

Advice

This is more of a part-time job for a student or minimum experience employee. I don't regret it though.

What I liked

The interview process was super quick. They ended up hiring me within 1-2 weeks. I like working at Fastenal because they allow me to have a flexible work schedule (as a college student) and also a very good hourly wage. Of course you must work hard and work fast for this position but it's totally worth it.

Sales Intern

May - August 2019 • Terre Haute, IN

What I liked

Fastenal gave me the opportunity to shadow our outside sales representatives and see what it is like to create new business for our company. I was actually able to sit in on meeting with new businesses and watch our sales reps explain what we have to offer for the company and why we deserved their business.

What I wish was different

If there was anything i could change about this experience, I would have liked to be more involved in the meetings beside just sitting in on them and observing rather than actually getting to assist them in creating the new business.

Advice

My advice to anyone that is on edge of taking on the role of an intern for a company, DO IT. After this summer i was very confident that this is what i want to do for my career and it reassured me that i took the right path and pick the right major to study during my time here at Indiana State.
