What I liked

I liked that the company is very unique in what they do. I also liked the people I worked with. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I learnt a lot about different aspects of the company and projects. I personally worked on characterizing some of their fluids and devices.

What I wish was different

I would have liked to stay there longer to learn more. Since they have a big company, I would have liked to tour more of the different areas of the company. In addition, the company is focused on working with special chemistries. So, I wish I had a more in-depth chemistry background to understand more of the higher level details.

Advice

I would say that any person interning for Gentex should ask questions. Everyone working there is always willing to help and teach you. Don't be shy and desire to learn more. You will be surprised how much knowledge you will gain! :)

The freedom to do reasonable projects and many intern events was amazing.

What I wish was different

A little bit more direction when the project load decreased or canceled would have been nice.

Advice

Always ask questions and never be afraid to reach out to management or your peers.

What I liked

Everything. Gentex was a great company and I had no complains. They were all super nice and helpful. I also got to work on real projects which was amazing

What I wish was different

I bigger project. I was always working on things that were smaller and didn’t get the chance to tackle something bigger

Advice

You get out what you put in. Work hard and you will learn a lot. If you put minimal in, you’ll get minimal out.

Advice

Learn from the smart people you work with and get to know them. Don't act like you know everything, because you don't. Work hard on the work given to you, build your skills.
