I loved learning the world of PR and how to exactly utilize public relations skills in my current academia. I learned how to write press releases and to maintain clientele relationships which are two skills necessary to become a good PR associate.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more challenges! Once I learn something, my tasks have to dynamically change to suit the level I’m at and it doesn’t have to be a level I’m comfortable at! I love challenges and I will express that more next time I’m an intern.
Advice
Be open to learning things you initially did not sign up for. For example, I didn’t expect to do blog work but it was a skill I didn’t know I needed. I actually enjoyed writing and taking the time out to perfect a peice for my organization’s blog.
