What I liked

I really liked the international aspect of this internship despite it being remote. I met a lot of coworkers and youth from places all over the world which is pretty rare for most summer internships at non-profits. I also really liked the teamwork aspect of the position and working with other interns to complete tasks and interact with youth while developing programs.

What I wish was different

At times things felt a little disorganized and there was sometimes confusion amongst the other interns and I about what we were supposed to be working on. Somedays I would be working on my program and interviewing youth for several hours and other days I would log on and log off thirty minutes later because it was unclear what I was supposed to be working on.

Advice

This was not my first-choice internship, but I'm glad I persisted on my search for a summer internship, even if it was unpaid, because it was very low-stress and added valuable and experience to my resume. I would encourage anyone who has a little extra time on their hands and is looking for a cool experience to do an internship like this!
