What I liked

I have been exposed to a professional and consistent work environment. I have also learned a lot about countries across the world through macroeconomic research of countries in primarily in Africa and the Middle East.

What I wish was different

I wish that the work was less process-oriented. Some times looking at data and running quality assurance checks can be repetitive and mind-numbing.

Advice

Attitude. I would say that the most important thing that makes or breaks your work experience is attitude. There were times in the summer where I felt extremely excited to learn new things and felt like I had it made because I was paying my own rent. On the flip side, there were times when I doubted the work I was doing and questioned if this was where my ambition ended. I would say that it is extremely important to remember that the jobs and internships that you take during your college summers/years are stepping stones to a much larger working career.
