When I began at Heartland, I immediately recognized that I joined a team of caring clinicians that found a high level of personal fulfillment in their jobs. Even though I did not have any experience in a clinical setting, my supervisor always took the time to answer my questions and weigh my comments. I was grateful for the level of trust that Heartland put in me, as I was tasked with administering psychological tests to patients in one-on-one settings. This summer internship gave me an inside look at what clinical psychologists do every day, giving me a foundation upon which I can choose a career in psychology that best suits me.

What I liked
Interning at Heartland was such a fantastic experience. The staff were all so welcoming and helpful, and the experiences I had there were so memorable and educational. I'll always remember my time at Heartland as one of my best experiences.
What I wish was different
I only wish that I would have been able to stay in Pella for another semester at Central to have more time at Heartland.
