Learning about different mental illness and realizing that these patients are looked at so negatively, and changing my perspective on viewing mentally ill patients. I've made connections with patents, played games, had good conversation and most importantly serve them.
What I wish was different
I wish it would have been a paid position, I wish that there was a little more structure on the way things are done. I wish there was a set schedule on what I ought to be doing when I go in.
Advice
Take the effort to talk to the patients, find out about their experience and their perspective on being that position. It's the best way to change your perspective on the mentally sick and the best way to learn how to treat them
