Marketing Intern

What I liked

I liked that my internship was not limited to Marketing. I was able to work with other employees and interns on projects in the Sales, Operations and Finance department. I enjoyed the cross-functionality. I enjoyed working directly with my Manager on projects, sitting in on important meetings, and having a mentor to guide me throughout the summer. I did primarily video marketing in the beginning and it was a great learning experience. Other activities I enjoyed included a Sales Representative ride along, weekly lunches with C-Suite executives, facility tours of other companies owned by Hillenbrand and working on developing a sales budget.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more projects not just focused on digital media with videos and to work more with outside customers.


One piece of advice is to take full advantage of working with other teams and people from multiple departments. I realized I had a passion for Sales and working with people, while also being able to use financials in projects as well. My intern role was marketing responsibilities but I did not limit myself to one project or experience.
