Hillrom

Engineering Co-op

January 2018 - August 2019 • Milwaukee, WI

What I liked

I liked the variety of experiences I had and was able to design two circuits and gain knowledge about soldering, verification and validation, and troubleshooting.

What I wish was different

To have a bit more guidance. My boss was too busy to keep in touch with us in-depth. I think it would have been beneficial to have weekly meetings with the project I was working on instead of reaching out when I needed to.

Advice

Never stop learning and take opportunities to know more from the people around you.

Global Regulatory Affairs Intern

May - August 2019 • Skaneateles, NY

What I liked

Real work experience, gaining a bigger network, learning what Regulatory Affairs department is about, feeling like I contributed to something more, learning business lingo, learning how to utilize tools like share point, excel, and SAP in the workplace.

What I wish was different

I wish I had worked in the marketing department so I could gain experience in what I’m interested in doing for a future career, but I was able to connect and have lunch with marketing directors who told me a lot about the field.

Advice

Use everything for your benefit even though it might not be what you expect. Don’t take anything for granted and take each experience thoughtfully.
