What I liked

I gained lots of great experience working in a design office setting, coordinating with lead interior designers to trace drawings and redline previous ID drawing sets. I also greatly improved my AutoCAD skills over the summer. The office culture was also managed well and the chain of management was effective at inspiring employees to deliver excellent designs for clients in a timely manner. Company cookouts on every other Friday made the workplace enjoyable as well.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have gotten to gain some experience on the Revit team to improve my Revit skills along with my AutoCAD skills. Still, given the number of required projects each day, it would have been difficult to integrate training on both teams effectively.

Advice

Be prepared to learn lots of information quickly (take lots of notes, study them, learn them inside out and use them on a daily basis), but also be prepared to have fun along the way. It is a fast-paced process but is very rewarding.
