I was living in a different country and culture with a language I didn't know. We lived right next to the main market in Jerusalem and pretty much walked everywhere. I felt like a local soon after arriving.

Advice
To go on a experience that you won't be able to get again. Take advantage of opportunities and figure out a way to make them happen. Also to keep pushing for what you want and not settling. The company and I went through numerous types of internships before I found the one that I knew was right for me.
