English teacher

June - August 2018 • Koprivnica, Koprivnica-Križevci County

What I liked

It was so amazing to live with a host family in a community all the way across the world. They became as close to me as my own family in the summer I spent with them. During the day, I would teach English to elementary school kids at a free English-learning club in town that helps kids practice their language skills. Managing my own classroom was extremely difficult at first, but I grew to love the kids and their passion for learning. The people were what made my time in Croatia so close to my heart.
