Racepoint Global

Public Relations Intern

September 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

The clients! Racepoint has a wide variety of tech/B2B clients that are always in the news so it was a great opportunity for media relations and working on high-profile accounts. The office atmosphere is also really relaxed but also professional. A lot of young talent! My supervisors were really approachable, flexible, and understanding as were all levels of agency talent.

What I wish was different

Sometimes the day-to-day tasks would be a little monotonous and I didn't always get a lot of feedback after completing projects.

Advice

Speak up and advocate for yourself. Everyone is very accommodating and if you speak up about a particular interest they will work with you. Also Racepoint offers such a variety of disciplines and focus areas. Don't be afraid to ask to explore them!

Finance intern

September 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

The company is very laid back, with the way you dress and the way employees interact with each other. The office has a young, fun environment. It is a great place to work with all of the employees working hard and enjoying the type of work they have.

What I wish was different

The major downside was the commute from Beverly to Boston. Having to wake up early for the train and having an hour train ride after a long day definitely takes its toll on you. However, I still recommend getting an internship in Boston to gain invaluable experience.

Advice

Connect with people and make yourself stand out in any way you can. Your voice matters, even if you are an intern for a couple months. You should always speak up when you have something to say and make sure you are engaging with the people around you.
