I loved how everyone in the operations team worked together to help every participant that needed assistance with something, no matter how small.

What I liked
I loved the community the cohort built together in our two weeks of training. It made the experience of running your classroom and developing your methods of classroom management easier.
What I wish was different
I wish the program had been longer. I wanted more than four weeks with my students and my cohort.

Teaching Intern
May - July 2018 • New Orleans, LA
What I liked
I liked that I was able to get a feel for the classroom before becoming a first year teacher. I got to meet students from all over the country and learn from them as well. I also met some amazing mentor teachers, which has inspired to become an improving, effective teacher.
What I wish was different
I wish that it had been longer so that I was able to continue my development of teaching.
Advice
If you get the opportunity, take it. This will help you grow confident in yourself and in front of students.

Fellow
June - July 2017 • New Orleans, LA
What I liked
I liked the bond that I formed with my co-workers, the care my bosses had for my success, and the positive social change my work could do
What I wish was different
I honestly wouldn't change anything except for offering more locations and hiring more people (esp from Rice) :)
Advice
Just apply! Even if you have no teaching experience, even if you aren't going into teaching at all, just apply. It is amazing work and they make you a good teacher. No experience required, only the desire to do great things.
