Logistics Sales Intern

May 2021 • Cincinnati, OH

What I liked

The atmosphere, the people, and the job itself. The training program was well taught and thorough. The supervisors are chill but still expect you to do your job and exceed expectations. They truly are the perfect balance. You truly gain useful skills on a daily basis. There are always new opportunities to advance your career even as an intern. I love the competitiveness and energy of the job and the opportunity to talk to new people every day and build relationships.

What I wish was different

I have no complaints!

Advice

If you have little to no knowledge about logistics, that is okay. The supervisors do a great job training the interns/new employees on their responsibilities and the meaning of logistics sales.

Logistics Sales Intern

January - April 2022 • Clermont County, OH

What I liked

RTS is an incredible internship for any student, and it is the PERFECT internship for a student seeking their first co-op experience. The full timers at RTS are always ready to answer any question you have, and most of them love to hear about your future plans and interests. The entire first two weeks of the internship are spent learning about the logistics industry and teaches you every tool you need to do your job well. Throughout your time at RTS, you are surrounded by people who you can turn to for backup when you don't have an answer. I also enjoyed my different rotations to various sales teams. I spent a good chunk of my time at RTS on Team T-Rex, where the work is demanding but the lessons are so valuable. I am so thankful for my time at RTS, and 100% recommend the experience.

What I wish was different

I encourage RTS to actively search to hire more woman sales interns. I hope that I've proven that young women in sales, ops and technology are valuable assets to a team! Hopefully RTS will look to connect with groups at UC that cater to girls like me (such as Lindner Women in Business) to create a more balanced team.

Advice

If you're a little introverted and don't like being on the phone (like myself), I encourage you to still consider RTS. This has been a personal growth experience for me as well, and it has increased my confidence in high stakes situations.

Logistics Sales Intern

August 2021 • Cincinnati, OH

What I liked

Definitely the people and culture. Everyone at RTS is friendly and the interns all work on the same team, so it is easy to make new friends. The culture is laid back, and it is easy and encouraged to be yourself. The training program is also in-depth and easy to understand, so even if you have very little knowledge of the logistics industry, you can catch on quick. Most importantly, I was able to learn sales tactics and speaking skills they will help me in any industry that I will end up in post-graduation. Overall, I would 100% recommend this internship.

What I wish was different

Job can be repetitive at times.

Advice

Come into the job with an open mind a realize that this is a learning experience. YOU are there to learn, and what you put into this job is what you will get out of it. Make the most of it!

Sales Intern

May - August 2021 • Cincinnati, OH

What I liked

The everyday environment. Everyone at the company is super nice and chill. You are able to build relationships with not only your fellow interns and trainers but the brokers or even IT employees. Everyone is out for your best interest and get to know you.

What I wish was different

Advice

Ask questions about whatever you are curious about in logistics, no one here does not want to help you learn. Also, do not be nervous about being on the phone, it is a great experience to be able to get used to negotiation and rejection, especially while having your interns all around you to help you out.

December 2020 - August 2021 • Cincinnati, OH

What I liked

RTS has a great work environment. There was a perfect balance of fun and hard work. I loved working with my coworkers and supervisors day in and day out. I also loved the fact that my work actually mattered and had an impact on the company, despite the fact that I was only an intern.

What I wish was different

I really enjoyed everything about the experience!

Advice

The biggest thing is to ask questions. The industry can be complicated and the job itself can have multiple duties. The supervisors at RTS know their stuff, so don't be afraid to ask them anything. I have learned a lot about logistics, sales, and the company by asking questions.
