What I liked

Reliant is, first and foremost, a people-oriented organization. The folks there are dedicated to helping members and providing excellent service that goes above and beyond the expectation. The workplace culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork is conducive to a friendly, productive environment that encourages employees to be the best they can be for themselves and others. Reliant's ethic is unparalleled and I feel extremely fortunate to be part of the team!

What I wish was different

The only minor inconvenience is that the credit union's main offices (where training happens after initial hiring) are in Sodus, NY, which is quite far from where I live. The long commute for training is definitely something to stick out, though, because the information the trainers provide is vital, and making connections with the people who work in the main office is helpful in case you need assistance.

Advice

Be prepared to front-load a lot of information in training before getting hands-on experience in a branch. There is a lot to learn when you first start and it can feel overwhelming because you are dealing with money, but don't be afraid to ask other people for help. Nobody is going to shoot you down for trying to learn. As with anything you need to practice, learning this job takes time. But it also leads to greater comfort and confidence with your responsibilities. Put in the effort and you will feel fulfilled!
