Robins & Morton

intern

May - August 2022 • Roanoke, VA

What I liked

A team that was always willing to help and share knowledge. Coworkers that were friendly at work and outside of work. Good guidance on how to complete different tasks

What I wish was different

Truthfully, nothing. This job gave more than I ever could have thought.

Advice

Always try and learn something new through every different task and experience

Construction Management Intern

August 2021 • Nashville, TN

What I liked

I enjoy how collaborative my team is when working through issues.

What I wish was different

Though diversity is a great thing to incorporate, I feel that there are too many vastly different personalities on my team.

Advice

I would tell the next intern to dive in head first. Don't be afraid of new things, and if you aren't running into issues that create questions, you aren't trying hard enough.

Construction Project Management Intern

May - August 2019 • Birmingham, AL

What I liked

Everything! I learned a lot about real world situations.

What I wish was different

Everything was perfect.

Advice

Do not be discouraged when you start an internship and realize that school has taught you nothing. They will teach you everything you need to know to succeed at your job.

Marketing Intern

May - August 2018 • Birmingham, AL

What I liked

I loved the team and the work I did. I helped with sales pursuits and worked directly under the marketing division director. I was challenged every day and always felt that I was contributing to the better of the company.

What I wish was different

I wouldn't change much about my experience. If I HAD to pick something, I suppose I would have liked to have more projects running at once in case I got burnt out on one.

Advice

I would say "ASK QUESTIONS"!! I got so much out of seeking help and looking for ways to learn. I worked in multiple systems that I had little to no experience with and asking for help made a world of difference.
