I loved the experience. Everything I saw in the Emergency room really prepped me for nursing.

Maybe my hours. 12 hour shifts was a lot on me at first.
Advice
Do this job if you want to go into nursing. This will give you a first person look at what nurses deal with and the fast paced environment of school.

What I liked
I had the ability to visualize the hospital field before committing to a job in the hospital field. Very flexible hours.
What I wish was different
Many of the blocks for hours were taken up.
Advice
Someone going into the medical field should experience a position in the hospital prior to committing to it, so this was the perfect opportunity. Make sure to know the history of the hospital prior to coming to the interview!

I wish there was a bit more communication from actual ER staff about volunteer expectations, though I've received sufficient training nonetheless.
