Advice

Remember to have fun!!!! Staying in a good mood throughout the shift makes the job much more enjoyable and time goes by much quicker.

Customer Service Associate

February 2015 • Dover, DE

What I liked

Wawa was my first job and the company has always treated me well from a corporate level to the local (in-store) level. I enjoyed seeing employees that I have known for years, as well as meeting new ones. The new manager I had was kind and a positive impact on the store.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time to volunteer/intern with physical therapists.

Advice

Become friends with your coworkers; any job can easily become mundane if you are not part of a team and interacting positively with those around you.

Customer Service Associate

August 2014 • Tampa, FL

What I liked

There is always something to do, and the team you work with is always there for you. The company also holds strong values in terms of treating their associates right.

What I wish was different

Sometimes I feel disconnected from the northern Wawa culture being here in Tampa, and I wish that the training process was not as short.

Advice

Be patient and always have a positive attitude! Delighting customers is one of our core values, and a simple hello to someone can make your day and their day much better.

Customer Service Associate

March - August 2018 • Folcroft, PA

What I liked

I enjoyed making specialty beverages for customers.

What I wish was different

I wish the management had been better. My store failed several audits and had to transfer or fire the managers shortly after I was hired, so I wasn’t trained very well.

Advice

If you work at this location, be prepared to be busy. This store has many customers.

Customer Service Associate

August 2014 • Howell Township, NJ

What I liked

I liked how fast paced everything was. I was always doing something and always busy. I loved getting to know my coworkers and becoming a hard worker. I worked all shift and did everything in the store. My boss even had me train new workers. I did have to prove myself a lot though. I also liked the work ethic it taught me as well as the communication skills.

What I wish was different

I wasn't shown how to do everything right away, so I had to prove myself to get off of the register. I wish I would have been showed everything and then they picked where my major strengths were.

Advice

Always try to be better than you were yesterday, if you want something to change make it happen. In order to move from the register to the deli or even getting more hours and putting the orders away I had to prove myself and show them I was capable of doing it. I took my own initiative and showed them I can do it and can handle it. I have now become main deli, put the orders away, and done different manager tasks that most associates wont ever get the opportunities to do.

Customer Service Associate

March 2017 • Stafford, VA

What I liked

The atmosphere here is just like family. When I first started, everyone was so motivational and encouraged me to work my hardest. I was not afraid to ask questions and everyone accepted me with open arms. The associates really make you feel like family here, whether a fellow employee or a customer.

What I wish was different

Advice

This experience really opened my view of the world. Wawa really pushes to have friendly employees, and I would say they have succeeded in that. Although there are rude customers, each member of our team was happy to help and shook off the negative vibes we encountered. So my advice to anyone is to always shake off the bad vibes, because they don't matter at the end of the day

What I wish was different

Wish I didnt have to work so much. I really didn’t enjoy my summer that much. Not many days off!
