I liked that I got experience with a population I had previously not had much experience with and felt kind of uncomfortable around. I gained a great understanding of how the organization works to help these people meet their needs. I also developed better skills of confrontation and standing up for myself.
What I wish was different
I would have like to have had even more experience with different groups/situations.
Advice
You really have to dive in and sometimes make opportunities for yourself. The outcome is worth it. Great experience.
