Senior Intern

May - August 2018 • Weston, CT

What I liked

The experience was amazing, working with very passionate people and a array of diverse animals. My favorite part was having animals I specifically got to raise and see grow up eventually able to be released into the wild.

What I wish was different

The hours were very long and hard, I worked around 70 hours a week. I am not sure if there is a way to not work as much but that was very challenging. Other interns did not make it through the entire internship which just added to the work hours and took away from the time we had off during the week.

Advice

Do not do it unless you have a good work ethic and passion for taking care of wildlife. This is a very challenging job and it is without a doubt worth it. But if working with animals and advocating for animals that are considered "pest species" is not something you are sure if you want to do, do not apply to this internship.
